    TPs sensors different?

Only the 90mm and 105mm come in black. Which irks me because I have the 70mm and dislike the chrome. Black would be perfect on my engine

3.08 gears with a manual trans

Ford discontinued the 3.27 in favor of the 3.31 after the s197 came out. You can still buy 3.27s from aftermarket vendors but if you want ford racing gears you’ll need to get 3.31s

3.08 gears with a manual trans

I remember years ago driving a GT40 headed combo with a T5 and 3.08 gears and thought it was the nicest geared combo ever. Lots of low end torque and enough gear you didn't feel like you were always shifting. Some days I hate my 3.73's. Too much torque to really lay into it in 1st gear, and...

    TPs sensors different?

AGree. There is usually an O-ring/seal on the shaft of the TB that prevents gas from passing. Over the years that O-ring disintegrates or is lost.

    Ebay Lowering springs

Spring rates are very similar to Ford Racing “C” springs. You can likely look around for recommendations for those springs as to what dampers will work. Given the rate, and drop, you’ll likely want a better damper to control the spring as they will hit hard and bottom out with stock...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

That's what i had for almost 2 weeks in CA. Base Corolla. Couldn't complain much since it was for work. Not a bad suggestion, but I think i'll prob have intermittent use of it for the next week or so. My wife needs her car and if it's a rainy day I'm not taking the convertible to work.

    Lack of power on acceleration

ECU codes and I would datalog MAF flow as well as fuel pressure. ALso, there are misfire counter PID's that you can monitor that will register a count when you get to one of those hiccups.

Cobra Brake Conversion - Spare Wheel/Tire Search

I managed to find a decent Cobra 17" spare for my '00 GT with cobra brakes. On my '88, I was originally planning on running ATS brembos. The cobra spare obviously will not fit that. I later found out my C5 PBR's will not clear the cobra spare either, so I needed another solution. I stole...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

On another note. Explorer ST got rear ended by someone on the phone earlier this summer. Finally home long enough to drop it off at the body shop. Apparently the others guys insurance company considered a base Escape Active with the 3-cylinder engine to be an equivalent rental. It’s...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

Defrost definitely was an option. I'd imagine southern cars didn't come with it as much. TBH I do not need it at all, but it's just one of those things where if the car had it, i want it functional. I'm also a bit of a "snob" in the sense that if a car has an available option, i'll try and...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

I’m seeing cars I haven’t seen in years. Lots of older F150s, and tons of cool 80s era vans and trucks and other stuff. Final night and I get to go home. My rental is some lame corolla the last 2 weeks and I just hate it.

    Suspension Quad shocks

It’s what MM recommended to me. They aren’t original they are new, along with new axle bushings. All low mileage stuff. In fact there have been two different sets of them each at this point. At this point I’ll live with the quads and just pull them when I finally install a torque arm.

    Suspension Quad shocks

I had to put them back on mine. MM lowers, new OE style uppers, bilstiens, PHB, still had the hippity hop. Checked pinion angle. Just put them back and problem solved.

    Oh boy!

She lists Massachusetts as one of the states, but I don't see it. MA has a rolling 15 year exemption on emissions. Anything older than 15 years just doesn't get it...even the plug in OBD2 cars. As for costs to register and such, the older the vehicle, the cheaper it is generally. My '88 and...

Fox Rear Seat Belts - 87-89 vs 90-93 length

The 90-93 buckles are shorter than 87-89, but they also bolt into a completely different area of the trans tunnel. The older buckles (79-89) kinda bolt in more towards the rear and come over the seat cushion. The 90-93 buckles bolt to the trans hump and come through the seat cushion...
