Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

I’m pretty sure that’s where I got my numbers for my rear setup.

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

My full setup is as follows. Some of this may not be relevant to your needs Everything is MM unless noted. Front: Bilstiens w/MM coil-over kit 250# 12" springs (although I would go 275# if I didn’t again) K-member kit, and standard A arms caster/camber plates bumpsteer kit Stock fox sway bar...

My Foxbody exhaust smells, and always has

They do help. I have two high flow cats on my car just for this purpose. Kids wanted to ride with me but they complained about the smell. State of Tune also plays a role. During cold start warmup, you are richer than usual so that contributes to the smell. Excessive smell could be some...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

Because they aren't as harsh on the street as I thought they would be. I think i have alittle room to go stiffer without it getting too harsh. Plus they recently repaved all the roads I regularly travel on with the car, so i figure I can go stiffer. I kinda half-heartedly keep an eye out for...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

51651.77R rear springs are what I have. MM recommended me the 94-95 versions as i had the adjustable control arms. I think it's spot on as i am able to adjust down to touching the top of the tire and to about 1" of gap...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

I have the same setup pretty much. Yes, there is a difference between coil-over spring rates and standard spring rates in terms of how much "poundage" you need. The reason for the difference is due to the springs location. The closer into the spring pivot's point you go, the stronger the...

Post pics of how your foxbody currently sits

Mine was an AOD back when I was DD'ing it. There's this one road I used to drive to get to HS that has a nasty crown to it. I remember one day coming home from school, having the front wheels cranked over about 45 degrees or so while the rear end was hanging near the curb. I think i drove a...

Post pics of how your foxbody currently sits

Yes. The dealership it was originally sold at is about a 10 min drive from me. I did drive it in snow through HS. Fond memories of being completely sideways with it as I drove down the road. I had to address the strut towers a few years back. But in the 28 years I’ve owned it I’ve addressed...

    TPs sensors different?

Only the 90mm and 105mm come in black. Which irks me because I have the 70mm and dislike the chrome. Black would be perfect on my engine

3.08 gears with a manual trans

Ford discontinued the 3.27 in favor of the 3.31 after the s197 came out. You can still buy 3.27s from aftermarket vendors but if you want ford racing gears you’ll need to get 3.31s

3.08 gears with a manual trans

I remember years ago driving a GT40 headed combo with a T5 and 3.08 gears and thought it was the nicest geared combo ever. Lots of low end torque and enough gear you didn't feel like you were always shifting. Some days I hate my 3.73's. Too much torque to really lay into it in 1st gear, and...

    TPs sensors different?

AGree. There is usually an O-ring/seal on the shaft of the TB that prevents gas from passing. Over the years that O-ring disintegrates or is lost. Each brand uses a different method to seal so hard to just say “get this” and it will fix the issue.

    Ebay Lowering springs

Spring rates are very similar to Ford Racing “C” springs. You can likely look around for recommendations for those springs as to what dampers will work. Given the rate, and drop, you’ll likely want a better damper to control the spring as they will hit hard and bottom out with stock...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

That's what i had for almost 2 weeks in CA. Base Corolla. Couldn't complain much since it was for work. Not a bad suggestion, but I think i'll prob have intermittent use of it for the next week or so. My wife needs her car and if it's a rainy day I'm not taking the convertible to work.

    Lack of power on acceleration

ECU codes and I would datalog MAF flow as well as fuel pressure. ALso, there are misfire counter PID's that you can monitor that will register a count when you get to one of those hiccups.

Cobra Brake Conversion - Spare Wheel/Tire Search

I managed to find a decent Cobra 17" spare for my '00 GT with cobra brakes. On my '88, I was originally planning on running ATS brembos. The cobra spare obviously will not fit that. I later found out my C5 PBR's will not clear the cobra spare either, so I needed another solution. I stole...

Mustang5L5’s progress thread - Rear window fun

On another note. Explorer ST got rear ended by someone on the phone earlier this summer. Finally home long enough to drop it off at the body shop. Apparently the others guys insurance company considered a base Escape Active with the 3-cylinder engine to be an equivalent rental. It’s...
