Yeah a high dollar$ hi power motor run what builder recommends, but the OP is basically doing a stock build with min.upgrades and for that he will get more miles out of running synthetic after break in oil and rings will be set.
I turned 316,000 miles on my stock 5.0 and only use synthetic, with...
I don't get why everybody is afraid of synthetic oil after break in.
All new cars run it from day one.
If you run a roller cam, roller rockers you don't need zinc additives in your oil, that's for flat tappet cams.
Nice job, those wheels look great on a white car.
When I did mine I bought the team z cc plates but drove without them for like two years without issues..
Right here in the state of Nevada I can buy a gt40 upper and lower intake with the 65mm tb from pic a part for less then $200 US dollars.
The gt 40 heads for $125 pair.
That's why I wouldn't have bought what you did.
In a perfect world you would have asked advice on that intake and tb.before purchasing them. Most everyone here would have told you to skip them.
I don't know the Canadian market but here in the USA for $400 you could have got the explorer intake,tb,and maybe the gt40 heads.
You would have been...
If your gonna drive your stang, really drive it ( I've daily driven mine for 18+ years) then just like the general said do the things that'll make it an enjoyable ride.
That means it starts , drives without overheating, everything works and it'll stop before you rear end someone.
I always...
You can mark the balancer with white paint , one line from center out, drive it awhile and if you see outer ring moved even a fraction then the balancer needs to go. Shop the balancer at rockauto, lmr,cj pony, and amazon.
Have your girlfriend call the tow yard to see when it goes to auction, have her call every single day, my friend got his back that way.It did take almost a year.
If you can do the work yourself, then get new motor and trans mounts, they look toasted.
Then if the vibration still exist look into driveshaft balancing,or the harmonic balancer.
You got it cheap for a reason. Or as my uncle Tony use to say " you get what you paid for"...
I wouldn't be worried what intakes are available for a 351w I would worry that you are putting 170 heads on a 351w.
Ported or not they are not going to do that 351w any justice.
Please talk with an engine builder before you buy anything else.
Well I've done this a few times and anytime you are working on a 40 year old car you are never prepared for everything.
That being said, your cart should get you there,I would also get some permatex blue water pump sealant.
Take pictures before and in between removal of all of it for reference...
