    Stupid (to most), suspension question

If you wanted to maintain a stock ride quality along with lower ride height, you could just heat your current springs. Use a spring compressor to provide force, and then bring them to 400* or so in an oven with slow, even heat. Remove from the oven, let cool, and remove the compressor. The...

UNplanned mod: Did I do something stupid? (tire experts, please)

Looks like a decent tire, but its not an ultimate gripper. Dunlop has some better offerings (SP Sport 9000), and other manufacturers do too. But its not a crap tire either, and if you didn't pay more than about $150 each after mounting and balancing I'd say you probably did OK.

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

I'll take a little bit of flaming for some tech. There's more tech in this thread than I've seen in the past week. I'd rather have some angry learning than have the entire forums hold hands and sing Kumbaya and not learn anything!

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

Gino- here's a decent thread on c-c.com that addresses swaybars. RoushGTR has some solid tech in here: Clicky

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

Lets go through your post a step at a time. I will omit the use of quote tags to save myself time and instead just use quotation marks for your "points". My rebuttal will be below: "ok...where did u copy this off of?" I didn't. I'm an engineer. When you spend years of your life explaining...

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

OK, just some guy. I'll bite. The front sway bar is a single piece of metal bent into a D-shape. Its tied to each of the front suspension halves (specifically, the A-arms) by vertical links and bushings that impart force to the bar-ends during times of vertical suspension travel. The bar resists...

Welp... Took off my Front Sway Bar!

I don't see how loosening it will help with weight transfer. You have not removed any weight from the front end, and the swaybar only exerts force during lateral weight transfer. Loosening it will certainly limit its ability to do it intended job, however.

    Oil change every 3k miles...

You can go a lot longer than 3k. I go about 12k in my Exploder and about 6-8k in my Cobra. EDIT- Let me inject some tech into my post. There are 5 basic grade of industrial lubricants. Grade 1 to Grade 5, duh. As you go from 1 to 5 you find increasing stability and longevity. A Grade 1 oil...

    Drilled/slotted rotors

Yes, the pads need fresh metal-- but the rust comes off too under braking. There is no way I am aware of to avoid surface rust under the brake swept areas.

    Drilled/slotted rotors

Yeah, you need coated ones to avoid rust

    Help!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if you can get 'stronger' shift forks, but you make me wonder how you popped a shift fork using a Steeda shifter.

    Drilled/slotted rotors

Because the edges of the slots and holes are guaranteed to stress-crack in a relatively short period of time.

    Installing a Water Temp Guage

I used the Autometer Dash Bezel to mount oil pressure and water temperature gauges. Instead of replacing the factory sender (which will drive the EEC crazy) I used a drain plug on the block to install the Autometer sender. Here's a pic from my old GT to show you what it looked like:

Having problems w/ Accufab t/b on 98 cobra

You definitely need to calibrate the TPS. You'll need a multimeter to set it properly, and there are a number of write-ups all over the internet to show you how to do it.

How much boost can I run on a stock 98 cobra

I'd leave what you have alone. Seriously. 14 lbs of non-intercooled boost on stock connecting rods is stupid. If you can't afford a $1500 aftercooler, you REALLY can't afford a rebuild.

How can I find chip in 98 cobra

If its chipped you should be able to remove the computer and verify visually. The aftermarket chips almost always plug into the service port on the EEC. I promise you that if a supercharged car was built by anyone other than monkeys with wrenches it has some sort of aftermarket tuning provided...

    Front Coil-Overs for Cobra

A front coilover system works by removing the factory spring entirely. The strut is then fitted with a special collar that acts as a spring perch, and the spring is located between that perch and a stop on the top of the strut. The ride height is then adjustable by simply raising or lowering...

Bank 2 is not front/back, it is driver/passenger side. I can't remember. My gut says passenger.
