    2000 GT: Styling Bar Time

After hemming and hawing for a year or so, finally got the styling bar. I’ve always liked this look since the 90s on the SN95 convertible. I ended up buying the 94-98 black color bar. Let’s see if I can get it installed this weekend

Yeah…I’m never happy. I dropped a hint to LMR to make some 17x9 or 17x10.5” versions of my polished 01 cobra wheels. If they do that…my decision is made

    Fox Brake pedal too stiff

Off-topic, but information that deserves to be recorded. Years ago I was conversing with a Ford engineer on corral who did the brake system for the 1994 Cobra. This is the story he told me regarding the development of the 1994 Cobra brakes. Originally the setup came with a 1" bore MC. Well...

Engine Would you replace these OEM motor mounts?

I’m running the Stifflers X-member so those bushings are poly or maybe even delrin. I had the ES trans mount as well and ended up removing that for a stock style rubber

Engine Would you replace these OEM motor mounts?

I run the ES poly engine mounts with an NOS trans mount. I had poly, but had way too much vibration at the shifter so i went back to rubber on the trans mount. I like this setup a lot. The ES poly mounts are the convertible style mounts. The prothane ones are the 87-90 hardtop style...

    Fox Brake pedal too stiff

Which generation Cobra brakes do you have up front? If you have the 94-98 versions, you'd really want the 94-95 Cobra 15/16" MC. (they can be used with the 1" 93 cobra MC but first stop on cold pads might be a little lacking) If you have the 99-04 versions, the 93 Cobra 1" MC is the right one...

Back at it with the car. Fall weather is upon us, which for some reasons seems to be when I drive the Fox the most. Got it out again Sat and did some more tuning with AutoTune on. Making less changes now in the normal driving band. I have good response and torque. Have not had the chance...

    Engine Which fan clutch ?

Same. Fits like a glove and keeps the car cool with the ac on. Not knocking the simplicity of the fan clutch setup, but e-fans can be set up to be pretty darn reliable and efficient. I don’t even have my fan set to be on most of the time. Above 40mph it’s off.

    Injector question

I doubt those are genuine injectors. Most likely Amazon/ebay knock offs. The OE ford injectors will have a ford engineering part number on the top plastic and some have a ford oval (not all). I forget if it was Bosch or Denso making them in the early 90s. Genuine replacement injectors won’t...

    Electrical Parasitic Draw, Fuse 8

Mine work, but i have them disconnected because of this reason. The little buttons sometimes don't work. After walking into my garage in the dark and seeing a light on inside the car, thought it best to unplug them and avoid the issue. I don't see the need ot check myself out it in the dark...

    2000 GT: Styling Bar Time

Ended up letting go of my plan to swap the interior. Just too many crap panels locally that folks want top dollar for. Literallly cracks and damage and folks want $200 for a pair of door panels. Nah…. Finally got to swapping the Hawk HPS 5.0 pads on. Night and day difference. Long story...

Fox Brake lines hitting bump stops

Thinking back. I may have had the springs out and articulated the suspension to try and see if there was contact. I might have tweaked the lines/brackets slightly to get clearance

Fox Brake lines hitting bump stops

I wonder if they are just not routed properly. Here's how mine sit on my axle. LMR hard lines running 94/95 Mustang bracket/softlines (braided)

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

My full setup is as follows. Some of this may not be relevant to your needs Everything is MM unless noted. Front: Bilstiens w/MM coil-over kit 250# 12" springs (although I would go 275# if I didn’t again) K-member kit, and standard A arms caster/camber plates bumpsteer kit Stock fox sway bar...

    Grown Man Crying

They do help. I have two high flow cats on my car just for this purpose. Kids wanted to ride with me but they complained about the smell. State of Tune also plays a role. During cold start warmup, you are richer than usual so that contributes to the smell. Excessive smell could be some...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

Because they aren't as harsh on the street as I thought they would be. I think i have alittle room to go stiffer without it getting too harsh. Plus they recently repaved all the roads I regularly travel on with the car, so i figure I can go stiffer. I kinda half-heartedly keep an eye out for...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

51651.77R rear springs are what I have. MM recommended me the 94-95 versions as i had the adjustable control arms. I think it's spot on as i am able to adjust down to touching the top of the tire and to about 1" of gap...

Front Coil Overs and Rear Traditional Springs within a Maximum Motorsports K-Member Kit

I have the same setup pretty much. Yes, there is a difference between coil-over spring rates and standard spring rates in terms of how much "poundage" you need. The reason for the difference is due to the springs location. The closer into the spring pivot's point you go, the stronger the...
