    Yet another v8 swap

Actually, it looks like @extra_stout used a T5, @IICrew used a T5, and @welder4956 and @2Blue2 are using stock setups. I've been searching for some sort of help here in the forums and the only thing I've found so far, which isn't directly related to a C4, is this thread of an AOD swap. It...

    Yet another v8 swap

I have no idea about what a shop would charge. But there have been people who've used the larger bell housing and flex plates though I don't have any first hand experience with it. You may have to massage the tunnel and may have exhaust clearance issues, but it should be workable. I believe...

Tell you what - having no floor pan sure does make removing a stereo a breeze. :rlaugh: You know, if this still works it may just end up in my car. I mean why not? It's period correct.... ;)

An OEM II C4 bell? The easiest approach is probably locating a stock II flexplate then having a shop change the balance weight to 50 oz.

I'm sure someone has, you'll just need to be aware that you may run into clearance issues.

The pickup tube is also for a Fox. The II gets a front sump pickup like this one. https://www.classicindustries.com/product/all-years/ford/mustangii/parts/6622a6.html

    Vibration after new clutch

I feel that this is the most likely culprit.

No, that is for a Fox. Mustang IIs get a front sump pan that hugs the crankshaft on the back half to give clearance for the rack and pinion. Here is a pic comparison of 2 different front sump pans, one being for the II.

I've thought about relocating it to the hatch area, just haven't committed to it. As for the creases in the banner - I've not thought much about it. I'm wondering how the freshen function of my dryer would work or if I could just use a low heat setting for like 20-30 minutes.

    Vibration after new clutch

The more I think about what you're saying the more I think it's some sort of alignment issue with the input shaft. Were all of the mating surfaces cleaned as best you could before reinstalling everything? When you installed the transmission, did it seat cleanly before bolting it in or did you...

    Vibration after new clutch

Welcome to :SN: ! So the problem wasn't present before the swap, or was it? And your checks were done with or without the driveshaft to eliminate driveshaft issues? My first instinct is something to do with the input shaft of the transmission. Whether that's the pilot bushing, a bad bearing...

This cooling duct is cracked and missing a piece, but I've saved a few on Ebay since your last suggestion. I'll probably pull the trigger on one sometime in the relatively near future. Speaking of Ebay and pulling the trigger - I couldn't help myself and pulled the trigger on one of these a...

Tonight's progress: Pulled the engine harness, the firewall braces, and made templates for the hole locations for those braces as well as the T top roof if I need it. It's about time to climb around inside the car to remove the dash but, if I'm being honest, I'm not looking forward to it. I have...

    Yet another v8 swap

Hi Bob! What clarification are you looking for? As @Blackhawkxx said, the oil pans are unique in order to clear the rack and pinion. Exhaust can be one of the most challenging parts of it all since it's so tight. Ford made a smaller flywheel/flexplate and corresponding bell housing specifically...

I'm in Iowa - cold is mandatory, snow is optional. ;) I don't remember seeing it on any shows or anything, but I have seen it done in salvage yards, specifically in vans with engines missing. Having pulled an engine and transmission combo from a II multiple times over the years I know how...

I'm planning on drilling all of the rivets and cutting all of the stitch welds from the T top support before transferring it to my car. I'm not sure if I'll be able to use it as a template for my cuts, but that's the hope. If not, I picked up some poster board to use as a guide. But my overall...

Progress overnight tonight - got the engine and transmission pulled. Made a slight mess, forgot to plug the transmission tail shaft. Good thing I have a few restaurant sized trays laying around to catch this kind of stuff or it probably would've been worse. Since the lower radiator support...

I suspect it is/does, especially since my engine produces a bit more torque than the stock 302. I had home made connectors in it before I went with Stumpy's a few years ago, I suspect they weren't quite as good at preventing the twist.

My back has been feeling a lot better but I ended up running a few errands instead of working on the car today. I did, however, pick up a load leveler for my engine hoist and dropped that in the garage. Here's something that I'm sure more than one of us has experienced: I believe the web...
