Hello, I have a 2006 GT and I’m currently dealing with some steering issues. Sometimes it feels like the car completely loses power steering at low rpm, like backing into a parking spot. It’s like the steering binds up and then the power steering comes back after turning the wheel. It seems to be random though, because it does not happen every time. Just this morning I noticed a new problem. Whenever I am turning my wheel to the left (only to the left, not right) at slower speeds, there is a squeaking/squealing/whining noise. The noise will continuously happen if I turn the wheel left a little bit and hold it there. If I keep turning the wheel left the noise eventually goes away. The steering feels a bit different when the noise goes away. I don’t know how to describe it, but I can feel it in the steering wheel whenever the noise disappears. My guess is that the PS pump is on its way out, but I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
