I would miss being able to hit 72ish in 2nd, but I'll probably still end up getting 4.10's lol.

The 3.55 are great because of the top speed i can reach in each gear at 64-6500 rpms. 72mph at top of 2nd,108-109mph top of third at 6500rpm and 140 or so at the top of 4th gear. Even though i will more than likely get 4.10's, i had them in my 2004 gt and could chirp the tires in 4th gear. I miss them.

I have a 06 GT. 4:10 gears, cold air intake kit w/diablo tune. I've only made four passes @ pacific since the changes. I'm going thru the lights at 5500 rpm with a ET @ 13.58, 102 mph in 4th gear.. Every pass was different taking for granite I do have 20's and I'm spinning thru 1st. Gregg and I were talking last night about a different tune that is supposed to be better than the predator/diablo by at least 3 tenths in the quarter.

My personal opinion....Go with 4:10's. However, Ford Racing has two different models/prices. Gregg ordered the cheaper one's and found out later that they are actually built by a different manufacturer and I do hear a slight noise on the freeway, nothing major. Just do your homework......

You must have an Automatic? They are geared slightly shorter than the sticks giving an auto a little higher RPM. my car at 5500 in 4th would be closer to 110-115mph, but i havent taken the car that high yet since it is sill in the break in period.

Parts + install was 550+tax= $58X.00. The little extra $ is worth the warranty by taking it to the dealer if you value your warranty. i ave a 7 year full warranty that cost me 2 grand. i may reverse that, take the cash, and use it to pay off the car. i can always buy warranty later anyways.

I'm thinking of 4.10s as well but I suffer from traction problems horrible already. My question for you 4.10 owners is how do you shift into 2nd fast without spining out? A couple of times I have got my car sideways in 2nd and lots of times I have had to let off to avoid it. This is with 3.55s and 255/45/18 tires.

That's where the driving skill practice comes in. Either upgrade to stickier tires or feather the clutch some to minimize wheel spin.

I have all the mods in my sig and I am pulling and average of 4.82 0-60 mph times as reported by my Escort Passport GT2. Also according to the GT2 my 60' times are right about 2.0 +/- 0.05, but that is when I launch perfectly of course.

I am running 235/55-17 Hankook Icebear snow tires, and those babys grab better than I ever thought possible when it is dry here. They grabbed so well, in fact, I thought I really had a problem with my power or tune. Since I couldn't get any spin down low with my setup. I was really worried until I recently got my GT2 and started playing around with it and getting the performance feedback I mentioned above.

Just for laughs, I did a 0-60 mph run ALL IN SECOND GEAR and managed 60mph in 5.62 seconds. So I can beat a lot of stock cars 0-60 mph times even if I start in 2nd gear

I love my 4.10s. The track where I am at isn't open yet so all I have is my good ol GT2. I definitely recommend one of those. It is a pretty awesome toy.

Of course I am not trying to compare a mustang an an M3, because i would drive an M3 over a stang anyday, but you get the idea.

but...you just did

I almost bought a '97-M3 for the 4-doors, always liked them, back in '97 I could have bought that one for only $10K more than my '97 Cobra. But these new ones you can keep. Still awesome rides but for the price I'd rather have a pair of Mustangs.

What warranty would be voided if you had the gears installed by a reputable shop? None I assume.

As long as the root of your problem was not directly caused by the gears. The hard part is finding that dealer that doesn't turn you away as soon as they see 1 mod on the car.

Added the 4.10s to my car today. I have an 07 gt manual(5spd), I have 18 inch bullitt rims, have 255s on the front and 275 on the back. Bridgestone sport potenzas.. have a CAI, and diablosport tuner chip. My car had the stock 3.55s in it. It would pull okay, but you almost had to burn clutch in 1st n 2nd gears to keep rpms high enough to help where the car was lacking.. not anymore! The 4.10s with the work I mentioned wake it up so well.. I promise u will never look back if u add these. Makes the car night and day differences.. don't know the time difference but I honestly feel like without embellishing too much that my 0-75 time is what the car stock was 0-60. It's that much dif in power! Also I have traction control disabled as well as the rev limiter banged up to 6950. I have never spun my tires unless I meant to if the road was dry since having the "real" tirews on the car and not the puny stock crap.. also meant to mention I do have an h pipe and bassani exhaust as well.

I was on Google and came across it. And to be honest, my car is an 07, which makes it Ummmm oh yea, 8 yrs old. So it's just now applicable for me, so I commented.
