I know this may be a strange question, but does anyone know how much weight an 01 GT can tow? I want to add a tow hitch and trailer to my stang to trailer my motorcycle to the track and have no Idea if one or two bikes is gonna be too much for the old stanger. She puts down just under 300 HP to the rear with 330 ftlbs TQ if that makes any difference. I have seen a guy in my town pulling a quad in his GT, but I dont want to bog it down too much, especially on the freeway.

I would just put the tune back to stock if you have a chip, then run premium gas to keep it from knocking.

I don't know the weight, but a motorcycle shouldn't be a problem I would think.

I was towing a 600lb Jet Ski with my GT for a while with no problems. I think that the max towing capacity is 1000lbs.

I think your correct. 1000lbs sounds right.

Straight out of the owner's manual.

"TRAILER TOWING

Your vehicle is capable of towing a trailer up to 454
kg (1 000 lbs.) gross trailer weight with a maximum
tongue load of 45 kg (100 lbs.). Do not tow a trailer
until your vehicle has been driven at least 800 km
(500 miles).

Towing a trailer places an additional load on your
vehicle’s engine, transmission, axles, brakes, tires
and suspension. Inspect these components carefully
after towing.

Do not exceed the GVWR or the GAWR
specified on the certification label.

Towing trailers beyond the maximum
recommended gross trailer weight could
result in engine damage, transmission/axle damage,
structural damage, loss of control, and personal
injury."

I'm not sure about 99+, but I towed a 2000 GT with my 94 up the access road when his tranny blew out on him. Course, we were only doing 20, lol. But it towed it no problem, so I would think you could tow some motorcycles just fine.
