Ok guys please help the noob. I know the 03/04 Cobra hood is not a direct fit for a GT because it leaves that 'gap' between the grill towers and the hood. I am looking to get an 03 hood for my '02 GT and was hoping someone knew how to solve the 'gap' problem. There are a couple of companies (mrbodykit and abc excluisve) that claim to make the '03 hood for the 99-04 GT/V-6, is this an option I should consider or should I just stick with the Ford hood and make it work? BTW, I plan on coupling the hood with a Roush Stage 3 front as I recently got into a fight with the back of an Excursion. Thanks.

^^my car^^. no, its not ok. the only way i know how to fix it is im getting my body shop to put a bunch of bondo on top of the grill towers. OR, i have my old STALKER front bumper, and i can cut the top of the grill towers off of it and have him bondo them on. I am defineately getting it fixed though, I can't deal with it.

Thanks for the pic 281. That's the 'gap' I've heard so much about. I am very particular and I can tell you are as well or you'd just let it go. Aside from the tower 'extension' route is there any other way to avoid it? Still sweet ride 281 that Stage 3 front and '03 Cobra hood look great together, plus I figure it will give me the clearance needed to add my Kenne Bell later.

My freind put a 03/04 Cobra hood on his GT not too long ago. I didnt notice "the gap" on it, and it was on my other freinds 03 Cobra so it was origional.

Maybe because whenever I looked at it I wasnt sitting eye level with the hood or anything.

I dont know why but for some reason I remember hearing that the 03/04 GT's with a Cobra hood dont have this problem...

yes, if you buy abc's hood, they are made to fit the GT bumper.

GT bumper with 03 hood = gap
Cobra bumper with GT hood = fixable

To solve my problem, I just bought an 03 bumper

I dont think the gap is really t hat bad? But I am kind of a perfectionist so I bet if I had it on my car I would probably want to fix it.

Opposite problem

I have the opposite problem... I installed a 2003 Cobbra front fascia on my Roush Stage 3 and now I can't close the hood. Any suggestions?

Most of the stage 3 Roushs have the reverse scoop hood (99/01 cobra, v6 hood)
