The 03-04 cobra's can diffently grow on a person..I looked and tried to convice my wife in getting a 10th anny, but to no provail. I can see why you'd want one, but everytime I see you post something about getting one, it appears like your trying to talk yourself into it...just go down to the bank in the morning, get approved then hit the dealerships and "wheel and deal"..dont trade in your car unless the give you want you want for it..in fact, be tough, tell them what you want to spend and will it will take for you to get into one today...you'll probably end up walking out empty handed, but rest assured, they will phone you in a day or so, cause they want to get rid of them just as much as you want one......just do it Dave...no NIKE, just walk your azz in, and drive home happy...

Hell, I went down there yesterday and said "if you can hit this number, I'll walk away with the car." They wouldn't deal -- I think they would eventually have hit that number pretty easily, but they wanted to do it their way. Started pulling out the "four square" crap and "sign here saying you'll buy it if the price is right." I told the guy point blank to get the numbers, or I was leaving. 10 minutes later he hadn't returned, so I walked out. Moral of story -- **** new car dealers and their salesfreaks, when/if I buy a new car I'm only dealing through the "Internet Manager".

Okay..I agree with your theory. Did you give 'em your number so when they change their minds, they will phone you?

Yah, I forgot to grab the "guest info" sheet when I walked out. They've already called once, but not with numbers. Just a plaintive whine "come back, give us a chance to earn your business." Let me just say that their sales force was as slimy as any other dealer I've been to in my life, with the possible exception of Carr Chevrolet (went there once to look at a used 95 GT for a friend of mine). In the first five minutes, I talked to no less than 5 separate salesfreaks. They kept asking me to go test drive it, that getting the numbers would "take some time." What utter BS.

And yes, I am sorta trying to convince myself to go for the '04. But I'm worried about whether or not the value will crash (even more) when the '05's come out. This is not a hobby we enter into for financial reward, but I'd like to be able to unload whatever I get in September of 2006 without taking a loss.

Mmmm, in my e-mail I have a quote for a 2004 Mystichrome at $35,980. The guy claims that to be invoice, I'm not sure.

Not that I really *want* a Mystichrome, it's cool but expensive. I got a little happy when I went online asking for e-mail quotes from pretty much every dealer in Portland, on at least two or three different Cobras each...

Well the mystichrome should have a slightly higher resale value.

Not necessarily, it's just renting. Total cost about $17500, and you give the car back at the end. But at least you're guaranteed to be the among the first to get a 2007, before anybody who didn't lease...

That's true. But what will the value of the the cobra be at the end of the lease. If you would be still upside down then the lease might be a better option. And you'll get a 2007.

...AND Paul there was only 8394 03 cobra coupes made in 03...390 in yellow...how many vettes were made in 03 world wide...in any color?I do believe if you do the math there will be far less brothers running around in 03 cobras
Well dont put it that way, your comparing a model (vette) against and version (cobra), if you wanna compare numbers lets do math the right way.

Mustang Production numbers for 2003:
- V6 Coupes - 59,943
- V6 Convertibles - 26,500
- GT Coupes - 26,238
- GT Convertibles - 15,518
- Centennial GT Coupes - 717
- Centennial GT Convertibles - 1,323
- Mach 1's - 9,652
- Cobra Coupes - 6,600
- Cobra Convertible - 4,110
TOTAL - 150,601
Corvette Production numbers for 2003:
- Coupe - 12,812
- Convertibles - 14,022
- FRC & Z06 - 8,635
TOTAL - 35,469

So at roughly 35k vs 150k what rarest on the street?

Are you saying the V6 stang is a competitor to the Corvette's power and speed?

But everybody and their brothers have 03 cobras, and turbo mustangs are rare and a PITA. So... get a vette instead.

Ok Paul if you want to crunch numbers...first you should get the facts correct...you said 03cobras and turbo mustangs....not all mustangs...so you stand corrected ...there is less 03 COBRAS then vettes on the streets....and also these are specialty cars...factory produced..and the only turbo mustang was the svo 4 banger turbo which was made somewhere around 85 or so.......which still had less production numbers than the vette and other turbo mustangs were not factory produced or from svt.you said vettes in general not a certain model...but you did say 03COBRAS.. 03cobra coupes 6600...verts 4110..total 10710...vettes 12812 coupes ...verts..14022 ..frc zo6..8635...so thats 24759 "more" vettes on the streets....
