I was wondering if my setup will accomplish my goal of 100mph:
88GT 5spd with spare out,
edlebrock performer RPM
70mm TB
a/c delete
hollowed out smog (most fun to do mod--damn Canadian etesters)
silencer out...k&n in
Mac LT's O/R H and flows
timming at 12-13deg
2.73 (BOOO HISSS)
all round well tuned (wires, plugs at .54, new pcv, and new O2's)
Car feels very lively but bad gear leaves me wondering???? also correct me if I'm wrong but I figure to be putting down 230-240 rwhp. And throw in a pic cause all that cleaning I just like lookin at it.

Get a good launch man, and I think you got it. I think you got enough mods, just don't miss a gear .

With gears it wouldn't be a question. Provided you get out of the hole well (easier said than done with 2.73's) I would bet that it can be done.

At least with the 2.73 I have enough time between shifts to think about how much quicker I would be with 3.73 lol, but things are as they are and untill the change in the fall I'll be runnin stock gear. Just lookin for input on what to expect (or not) when I head to Grand Bend (Canadian strip) for a friday test and tune next month.

Haha, I actually kind of liked my 3.55's in my old car a bit better than the 3.73's in my current one because I could more quickly/precisely time my shifts between first and second because of the ever so slightly greater time between shifts (when launching and driving the car hard). I think more seat time and some embarassment at the track will fix that

I hit it with a stock intake, but I do have 3.73 and more mods, but I believe a good running stang is possible of 14's @ 100~ mph. Good luck

I'm hoping on hitting 14.3's with my stang with a cat-back, and a tuneup. Original plug wires and cap probably aren't cutting it after 87k miles, but she still does good.

tires are 235/60/16 rear and 205/55/16 on front not the best setup but looks really good with the 1-1/2 drop, forgot to mention sub frame connectors in place and a pro50 shifer as well, the car is speed density but has good a/f ratio judging by look of plugs and running of the car in upper rpm band.. I honestly beleive with bolt on mods sub 14's can be had nooo problem, but I've not run my GT at a strip yet and thats why I'm looking to you guys for info on likely numbers so I can go in with reasonable expectations. Still anyone with rwhp est??

Thanks Nick, not the numbers I want to hear but reasonable when I think about it...is there any point in looking at 14Deg+ of timing over my set 12 or should I leave well enough alone?

Car came with that intake, had switched back to stocker, but there is definately a large gain in performance with the edlebrock on..pulls clean and hard to 5700-5800 in second and third, far better than stock intake IMO, as for heads/cam, car came to me as is so can't say if heads are ported or not, but I don't think they are. I think it comes together well seems much stronger than my 89 lx used to (exhaust and pullies only)

I don't think you can hit 100 mph with the mods you have and only 2.73's. You will be in the upper 90's for sure though

I think you may run right around 100 -- the gears will hurt you with that intake and TB setup...once you throw gears in, maybe 103-104??

my car was pretty stock when i use to run 99mph trap speeds...

o/r h pipe
flowmasters
shorty headers
moroso cold air kit
underdrive crank pulley
street tires
STOCK H/C/I
STOCK suspension

so it really isn't hard, just make sure your timing and FP is good. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks. I get that exact response quite a bit. Can hardly wait to get back to the track!
