Well, I felt this was a little bit like cheating.

We had some great 35 degree air with a slight tailwind at Cecil County. The track was fairly empty, making it a lot of fun. Got a new best ET, MPH and 60' time. The gains are not as much as I expected, considering all my new mods, but I'll take them.

Here are my timeslips:

60.....1.603
330....4.815
1/8....7.343
MPH...96.78
1000..9.505
1/4....11.302
MPH...126.15

60.....1.534
330....4.771
1/8....7.325
MPH...95.56
1000..9.509
1/4....11.321
MPH...125.19

Not bad for a lowly 2v, especially with the stock bottom end.

Back when I used to race on ET Streets and drag radials, I woudn't have even bothered. But with 28" slicks & a nice smokey 2nd gear burnout, it was hooking great. I'm sure track prep had something to do with it.

Believe it or not, I'm still on the stock axles. My diff is a stock trac loc, on its 2nd rebuild. The stock unit has held up pretty well, but I do tend to spin a little off the line, which takes away a lot of the shock.

Mod list and dyno can be found here:

Its an old post of mine when I was thinking of selling, which has a complete list of mods. I just updated it, although the car is not for sale

Those are good times. That is cold weather to run in. I know two people around here that wrecked at Milan. They hit the wall like half track. They both had 10-11 second cars. They said tires just broke free and they lost it. I sold one of them a quarter panel and door for an 86 Monte Carlo. The other was a Mustang. Good thing your car is still in one peice.

Yeah, I've gotten squirelly a few times. But whenever that happens, I immediately lift and coast the rest of the way. Some people try to straighten out, regain traction and continue the pass. I don't see the point since the run is already ruined

I agree. If you break loose at a high speed...GET OUT OF IT!! There is always the next run. There is also the next car, but who wants to crash right??

Thanks, but I don't consider myself a good driver. If I make, say 5 passes, only 2 or 3 of them will be clean passes. The other passes would be screwed up in some way or another. Also, my reaction times are all over the place, so I'll never be able to do well in a bracket race (unless I switch to an automatic).
