1967 Coupe Frame Specs

I was needing the Frame Specs of the 1967 coupe. IF anyone new them or new for sure where I can obtain them. I wasn't sure if they could be found in the Shop Manual.

They are not in the shop manual. Sorry I am not more helpful.

Actually, there are some dimensions in the Ford manual: Under the body,doors, and window section 17-5. A schematic for underbody dimensions...check it out.

What you want is the Ford Assembly manual if they have one for 67', not the shop manual. At least that is where I found the dimensions I needed to repair my 69'.

Converting a 67 to a 68 eh? You adding the reflectors or just removing the fake vents in the c-scoop?

The book in the picture is a Scott Osborne publication using FoMoCo illustrations. I have a few of them in my library and they are quite good, but I don't own the one in the picture and don't know if it contains the chassis specs or not. The Shop manual is pretty scarce with dimensions. The book Pak is referring to is a FoMoCo production, sort of a sister-book to the shop manual.

Removing the fake vents, adding the reflectors in the back and front. It will look exatly like the 68, I am either going to put a 428 in it or a ford crate engine.

I wanted to clone the 68.5 Cobra Jet car.

Well, still I need to know what to spend my money on. I dont' want to spend the cash and not get what I needed from it.

Why? No offence but I love the way a 67 looks. The vents are unique, no other mustang year has them and I think the reflectors just disturb the lines of the car. It is your car and you can do what you wont with it but I cant see changing its unique styling.

I tend to agree, but what I really prefer about the 67 versus 68 is the interior. The two spoke wheel and fake wood dash plus the padded console of the '68s just don't do anything for me. I'd take a '68 428CJ though

As far as "faking" one, that's gonna be really hard to do with the VIN.

I filled the reflectors on mine FIRST!! The small corner lights on the fender I can handle,steering wheel will go anyway.BTW anyone know where these specs can be downloaded in PDF???

I am just going to style it as one, not like I will clone it and try to sell it as such. I will tell everyone it's a 67. And the interior will have leather seats custom, steering wheel by Grant, and etc. I only said that it will look like the 68' CJ because well, it will have a big block or a nice small block with power, however, I will have the hood scoop (functional), the stripe that runs down the hood, and a different color C-stripe running on the sides.

I honestly hate the fake side fents, and if they were so popular to have, then why is it just about ever fastback in the 67's, people get ride of them or they put a scoop on the side?

I' completely in love with the 67 (see sig) but I'll readily admidt the fake scoops are my least favorite thing. I think folks cover them with the big scoops (CS or Shelby) not as much to hide them up but to try and make ones that look functional. I think your car will look bada$$ with the CJ hood and stipes, but you should not do the reflectors in my opinion.

LOL, I have one of these

I have an almost exact model of these, with exception that it is a fastback. Same color, even gold c-stripes. 428cj. In process of re-restoring it. It was fully restored, but then sat for several years. Any suggestions on starting a sat-around motor or engine specs such as timing,...etc.

Technically, the Mustang doesn't have a frame...it's a unibody.
And I love the scoops on my '67. I'm thinking of adding a few more in strategic spots. (JK)
