You're just asking for trouble. If you want to run high boost then you better ensure you've got more than an adequate amount of octane to prevent detonation. I'm not a big fan of additives at all because most of them are garbage. Why not just run race gas and be done with it? Why go cheap when it comes to fuel?

NOS Octane Boost says...
Pour the choice of the pros! Nitrous Oxide Systems Octane Booster is specially formulated for racing vehicles. Increases octane effect as much as 7 points. Restores lost horsepower, improves gas mileage, eliminates knocks, pings, and hesitation, and protects against buildup. "The Original Horsepower in a Bottle!" One bottle treats up to 16 gallons of gas.

So according to that if you added one bottle of NOS Octane Boost to a full tank of 92 octane your final octane rating would be.... 92.7.

NOT ENOUGH FOR 20PSI!!!!!!

i thought 7 point was like adding 92 plus 7?= 99 my bad i guess

i want to be able to drive long trips with having to worrie about finding race gas esp on sundays thats all.

im going to bring my car to jms for a tune , i dont drive to car much, decide to got SA too. so tell me this if iam on a long trip with my 3.25 upper and stock lower cant jms pull back the timing , cause if the cars not under bosot , it doesnt hurt right it
?

if im in town say like dont drive my car out of town for say coulple of months with straight 100 unleaded then could i run 20 psi , or more 22psi?

or would i need some C-16 the 22 psi but not the 20 psi .. i need to hear for the pro. what im daeling with , thanks um , youre the biggest help here

What you could do is have JMS create two custom tunes for you and load them both into something like an xCal2. One would be your "race" tune which you would use with 20+psi and race gas. The other would be a "street" tune for your long drives and such. You would need to keep two pullys on hand, one for the race tune (20+psi) and one for the street tune (something that would run on say 93 octane). You would be required to swap the pulley out along with the tune each time you wanted to change from one to another. There really is no easy or economical way to do what you're asking...

All those questions are out of my league man. You'll need to get with the KB guys over on ModularFords for the correct answers. There are just too many factors to consider in your combination to make a blanket recommendation as to what pulley equates to what octane is required. I suggest you tell your tuner what exactly you want to do and let them tune the car appropriately.

Can't you get methanol injection, and then you won't have to run race gas! Just carry a few quarts of meth with you and add it when it is low.

i t brought that meth kit and returned it for dyno time , so people said it wasnt worth it ? i thought it would be good?

i just what to make 625 on pump gas not 599 rwhp.
and 650 plus maybe on the 100 octane it might noit be worth it 100 octane set up

also do you have irs or solid axle ? what do you like more ?

KB Customer Support

I haven't been on this site in a while, or contacted KB recently, but I have to disagree with the poor customer service remarks. I have always had good service from their group. Sometimes they may be slow in responding, but that is usually via telephone. Try sending an email or fax.....Over all I rate their customer service good...

By no means an expert on this, but my brother in law runs 24-25 psi on his buick GN all day long with 93 pump gas. Has good tune, Big injectors and a methenal injection kit. The kit really lowers the inlet temps. He keeps a big knock sensor mounted right in front of him, only on the hottest of days does it begin to register. It's easy to lower the boost for him though. Turbos are awesome that way!

It's a little different when dealing with twin screw superchargers. You can't even run a knock sensor because the sounds created by the rotors fool the sensor into thinking it's detecting detonation. The methanol injection kits have been thoroughly tested on the 03/04's and the overall consensus was they're not worth the trouble and gains were minimal at best.

this is one thing i never understood. many other cars come with knock sensors. afiak they all have rotors and every other kind of noise to deal with any car does, why do our mustangs not have them?

i got 603/525 on 93 pump at 19.6 psi and 17 deg timing
641/557 on 104 unleaded gas at same boost level. with 20.5 timing
643/576 on 104.. at 21.5 psi> really didnt improve the hp. pulled 3 deg due to high ait2 temps.
tuned by amazon mustang dyno #s

i had jms tune it 1st they suck! they only got 565/501 out of it on a dyno jet. rick at amazon told me that they had it set up at 21 deg timing on my 93 tune.at 19.6 psi. im glad i didnt get on it much b4 getting it tuned by rick!
