i just picked up a 2001 GT yesterday. its got 35K miles on it, and it is clean. today, when getting on it, it's like the car was hesitating on the 2/3 gear shift. it's like it didn't want to shift into 3rd gear. then i noticed that with the overdrive on, it didn't shift as early as normal. yesterday when i had overdrive on, it shifted around 4500rpm, and today it took it to redline. any suggestions will be appreciated. i think its a nice car, and don't really want to have to give it back to the dealer.

oh yeah, also, the "service engine soon" light came on also. i'm wondering if it mite have something to do with either bad gas, or a clogged fuel filter. with only having 35K on it for a 2001, thats not a lot, and i wonder if gas sitting in it for long periods of time mite have something to do with it.

i would go to autozone and have codes pulled out of it and the hesitasion might be with the fuel filter starting to plug up

lol, 35k and problems already...joking..

yeah definetly do the autozone thing, it's free. btw nice buy and i'm jealous..

Congrats on the purchase Have you checked the transmission fluid? The fluid in the 4R70Ws needs to be changed every 30K miles, also get a quality transmission cooler as heat is the main killer of our auto trannys, and get some gears either 4.10s if you plan on staying all motor or 3.73s for Forced Induction.

First things first.. get that check engine light code pulled. When they try to sell you some products to 'fix your problem' based on your code, say "thanks, see ya." Then come back here and post the code, and we'll help you out.

bring it back to the dealer you got it from and have them fix it. if the CEL is on, then the ECU will lead you in the right direction.
