can anyone tell me a soultuion on why my steering is hard when idiling and its whining when turning but it comes and goes would that be the power steering pump or the rack and pinion any help would be greaty appreciated

Check your P/S fluid level first. Then check the feedline from the reservoir to the pump for kinks.

Almost sounds like a pressure relief valve issue

The breaks are almost the same trinity they have a little whining and they are spongy if you know what I mean! Is there a valve to release pressure

Has the power steering hydraulics been opened up recently? Did the fluid ever run dry?

It sounds like it may just need bleeding but there may be a fault in the power steering pump itself.

ok I got the car on jacks and the wheels are off and when I turn my steering the fluid dosent stay the same any ideas if this is the pump or a collapse hose
