This is probably a dumb question, but hold back on mocking me. Do you think that the 2005 GT mustang will come in automatic as well?

however.... If you get an automatic because you can't drive a manual, you will be missing out on one of life's great expericnes.

Yeah, I can't drive a manual. I've tried it a few times before, but i've never had enough practice to get good at it. I'd like to have a manual, but i'm afraid of messing up a new car trying to learn.

Get a cheap rental or have a friend teach you on his beater.

I bought my first manual before i ever got behind the wheel of a manual car. I didn't even drive it home since i didn't know how. Took me a whole 10min to get the basic hang/concept of it, and had it mastered by the end of the week. It really isn't that hard at all.

Learn, and you will never want to drive a slushbox again.

Your dad must have a really good job and lots of money to be able to own a 6 speed Corvette. What type of work does daddy do? It sounds like he's a millionaire.

I would suggest getting someone who knows how to teach you. There are some bad habbits you can avoid by doing this (ie. riding the clutch). The biggest thing to remember while you are learning is that YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. I have seen people so intimidated by driving a manual that they completely forget what they are doing behind the wheel. Also remeber that when you have the car in neutral or the clutch pedal down, there is no drag on the motor like in an automatic. You'll probably zing the motor a bit when you hit the gas for the first time. This can mess people up even more but it is not a big deal.

Find an empty parking lot where you can practice for a while and you'll do fine.

Yeah, I guess i can get some practice in sometime. I won't be getting a new car for at least 2 years (when i get out of college and hopefully land a decent job). Til then, I'll be rocking my Focus.
