It was said the other day on one of these pages that any GT ordered now would be an 06 Model by the time they can fill the back log they already have. With it taking 3 to 5 months on averge that sounds right.

05 Sonic Blue GT X-PLAN $24125.00+TAX
Ordered 2/4/05
Pulled 3/17
Build Date 4/7
ETA Date 4/25
IUP, ACTIVE ALARM
UPGRADE WHEELS
Dark Charcol Gray Int.

Ditto. X-plan is still available and all orders not placed by February 1 (and still C/U by April) will be an 06 according to my dealership in Atlanta.

Just to clarify what your dealer told you, I assume they were refering to GT's only due to the fact that allocation numbers for 05 GT's have been met.

In speaking to my dealer and one other, V6 allocations have not been met for 05 but GT's have.

"All remaining GT's have been spoken for" is what I was told. That was in mid-march.

If I was seriously looking for an 05 GT, I would buy one off a lot. Alternatively, wait for an 06, maybe it will have heated seats by then.

If you want an 06' just place your order now as an 05' and it will be bumped to an 06' production.

I'm just wondering why everyone is saying it is taking so long to get a new Mustang ordered. I was down at Cross Roads Ford in Cary, North Carolina today and the sales manager told me 6 weeks for an order.

By the way if anyone is looking for a Mustang GT 5 speed with Red Leather, IUP, Premium package, they have one they just got in today. I think the MSRP was about $29K.

In my case I ordered on October 20 and I was told the car would be here in 6 weeks, but due to delays with IUP and spoiler shortages my 6 week order turned out to be 9 weeks.
On the day I placed my order another dealer told me I would have to wait a year to get my car due to the backlog Ford had with the 05 Mustangs.

I know that many of you have had dealers tell you that Ford has stopped accepting orders for 05 Mustangs...I talked to a guy at Galpin Ford here in CA and asked if they can still order 05s and he told me that Ford is still accepting the orders and the turnaround time is 6 to 10 weeks.
