2006 Mustang Throttle Sticking /have To Shut Car Down More Than Once To Clear/ Any Ideas On Issue?

I have an 06 gt with 5 speed. It has done this twice after long storage and once during hard acceleration. Has anyone had this issue? How was it resolved?

Check that the floor mat is in its hooks correctly.

I'll second what Cusp has suggested. For everyday use I bought a set of black, carpeted Wal-Mart brand floor mats to use in place of my show mats. Even when pulled back as far as possible and hooked, they are cut/shaped in such a way that they can still catch the lip of the throttle pedal causing it to hang. Check the positioning of your mats and rule this out as a possible cause first.

Another cause is a sticking TB plate due to carbon build up. Auto supply stores sell products that will clean it.

I had the same problem. The throttle position sensor is worn out.. Order a new one for around $100.
