Hmm, anyone know how much the GT/CS will retail for? I wonder if the scoops are functional or not and if there's any performance mods.

No. From what I've heard from people who know is that it is all cosmetic. The only thing they do to the engine is put a plastic cover on it. I haven’t seen pics of the engine bay yet, but I assume the cover is similar to the preproduction GT cover.

As for the scoops, again no, they are not functional, they are purely cosmetic.

The question I have is why add heated seats to the "California" edition? Why not the 2007 GT and V6?

Definatly all cosmetic. The suede heated seats sound nice but I garage my GT all winter anyway.

Most dealers can install heated seats I believe. If not most then the one I purchased from in marietta GA (Team Ford). My sister purchased a mustang from the same dealer as I did and she asked that hers be equipped with heated seats. I do not believe they charged her anymore than they would cost as an upgrade on any other car. I havent been home to visit her since just after she got the car, but I think they mounted the switch for them below the HVAC controls near the defrost button in one of the "dead" button spots.

In any case my point is that many of Fords large dealerships can add options like this. Her car also was equipped with those back up warning things that beep inside the car when you back close to something. I dont know if this was because she requested that also or if the dealer did that or if it is simply an option.


You guys get the point.

I like it! I think its great that Ford is bringing back all the older trim models. It really sets off the nostalgia of these cars.

I'm not a big fan of it, but I think it's nice to see different trim levels. Something a little different out there.

I like the appearance of the GT500, and also I've seen base price tags around $39K.
