2007 Shelby GT500
After Ford Division mainstreamed Special Vehicle Team operations and entered into a new business relationship with Carroll Shelby in 2006, the car that SVT had engineered to be the all-new SVT Mustang Cobra came to market as the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500. Based on the all-new S197 Mustang platform and equipped with a special 500-horsepower supercharged version of the 5.4-liter V-8, this modern-day Shelby GT500 took the muscle car world by storm with looks that mirror the classic's and the kind of power and performance previously unheard of in any factory-built Ford Mustang.

Performance
-Handbuilt 5.4l Supercharged DOCH v8
-C&L Supercharger Pulley, 14psi
-C&L Tensioner to prevent pulley slip
-BBK Long Tube Headers
-Comes with stock headers and cats separate
-Header back is straight pipe (it is loud!!)
-Aeromotive Fuel Pump
-Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator
-½" Fuel Lines
-Custom Tune
-MGW Short Shifter
-N2MB WOT and Flat Shift

The MGW Short Shifter was installed as the TR6060 transmission developed the typical 2nd gear grind. This did not fix it. The transmission will need the stronger 2nd gear synchro installed. With as much torque as this motor makes, its easy to skip to 3rd for driving around town.

Exterior 6-7/10
This vehicle is not going to win any car shows. It looks really good from 5 feet. Once you start to get closer, you will notice the paint was not done well after the salvage repairs. There is some runs, overspray, and other general imperfections. The decals were not reinstalled after the paint. The hood is wavy as if the fiberglass was not flat. Once you get to 5 feet away though, it still gets looks and compliments wherever you go.

Interior 9/10
The interior is pretty basic, but a comfortable place to be. The seats are surprisingly great. They hold you in well, they are comfortable, and they look great. The clutch engages really smoothly and the MGW shifter provides really short and crisp shifts. Although the Shaker stereo is a little outdated, it sounds good. The two subwoofers in the trunk are missing, and it looks like an aftermarket subwoofer was in there at one time. There is an 8 gauge power lead that goes from the truck to the front near the battery if you want to reinstall a subwoofer. It really doesn't need it though.

General

The tires are the original Eagle F1s and they need to be replaced. It looks like they were ran over inflated for a while, as the centers have more wear than the outsides. The brakes are strong with the 4 piston fronts on 14" rotors. The front pads will probably need replacing next summer. The rears still have about 50% life left.

This car is fun to drive! It has a lot of useable power at any rpm, and is pretty smooth, but is ready to shoot you to extra legal speeds without thinking about it. It tracks straight and is smooth at fast speeds. It rides so nicely, that it will soak up the miles on a road trip. Along the way, you can stop in at the local drag strip and take down cars with a lot higher price tags. And it gets a lot of compliments wherever you take it. Here is your chance to own a historical car at a lower entry point than others on the market.
