so i have a 2010 Ford Mustang GT with 101,000 on it. has been running great. then all of the sudden, a/c becomes intermittent, check engine light comes on and dealership says i need a new PCM. The catch is apparently my PCM is completely back ordered and there is no telling when one will become available. I'm not rich. these are my options, would be curious if anyone has input.

1. pay 1200$ and hope that sooner rather than later dealership gets my PCM.
2. go thru my mechanic and get a non-ford PCM, pay approximately the same in parts, a little less in installing. $1500 v. $1800
3. write my car off as a loss, and trade it in and get something new so i dont have to deal with car issues. (least appealing option, see above "not rich")

If i could get over a year out of my car with option 1 or 2 i would consider it a worthwhile investment (figure less than 12000 miles a year). I would normally have gone with Option 1 but for the fact they can't tell me when they will ever get my PCM.

Any input would be appreciated.
