Are the parts made in China, or just assembled in China?

This is all about a combination of cars with skip shift dumping them into 4th gear at inopportune times, and maybe a few cars that might have experienced the issue with flywheel bolts backing out. Every forum I visit is plastered with these threads.....

And its also about legitimate grinding of gears during shifts, lockouts etc. There definitely is something wrong here. Ford best be working on a fix because a solution is gonna be needed here.

Of course there are some cars with legit issues. This, however is blown way out of proportion by a very few VOCAL folks who love to boost post counts.

If you pick a forum, any forum, be it Challenger, Camaro, Honda Accord, etc., there are some with legit issues. The stick in my 2012 shifts great, like most all do.

I found an easy solution to this yesterday. When my car lit 1-->4 for fuel economy, i just mashed down on the gas and switched to 2 with no problem

If you work at a ford dealership this is a pretty common complaint of mustang owners with shifting issues and im not talking about the 1-4 skip shift or clutch issues. Ive seen it from the Pony to the GT, 2011 or 2012, doesn't matter, the dual clutch fluid TSB doesn't help anything. Ford needs to do something about it and by having the government on their back may speed up the process for a real fix.

I've test drove 2 2012's and they both felt pretty notchy the first few shifts, they shifted about like my truck with 100k miles. That was dissapointing

I just got my car back on thursday they swap the fluid for the clutch due to the bulletin and i guess it was a mental thing i thought it felt better for a few minutes lol but now i think its even worse. I seen the camaros have issues with the manuals too but i was thinking going aftermarket on the clutch just waiting for the aftermarket to expand a bit.

I've seen the forums about this. It has caused some anxiety to be sure. I just signed on mine 2 days ago and mine is due to arrive in 2 weeks. How many here have that problem? How many have a 2011 and 2012 and DON'T have the problem?

I'll be over here on the fence until someone figures out if it's a legit equipment malfunction or two dozen asshats that have no business driving ANYTHING, much less a Mustang.

Well I'll let you know how a new 2012 feels when I get it. I'm going to preemptively talk to my dealer and at least let him know I know whats going on and will be talking to him frequently if I have an issue. Bummer I love the car and the test drive vehicle was awesome but only had 88 miles on it.

I'm only at around 800 miles on mine, overall it's good. Sure the shifts can feel a bit notchy and all at times but nothing unbearable. Unlike the rest I'm not jumping to assumptions because at times it feels smooth as can be so I'm writing it off at the moment on me getting used to the car/breaking it in.....This is the first V8 I've ever drove with a manual the rest have been 4 banger imports so that would be like comparing apples and oranges.

Have 4500mi. on mine and no problems. There are some very vocal *******s around though. They claim to have driven sticks before, blah, blah. BS, some of them cant even comprehend the skip shift. There are now a bunch of talking heads on the GT500 forum bitching about the Tremec M6 with notchy shifting, missing gears, etc.. This is the tranny the *******s were preaching as the fix for their problems, and that Ford cheaped out by putting the M82 in.

Bottom line to me is the M82 is as good or better than the Tremec(Camaro, Vette, Challenger). They are still crying about the crappy Tremec on the Vette and Camaro forums.

I don't think I have had a smoother shifting tansmission than the mt82. I have been driving sticks for 40 years. I have to admit, the first time I came across 'skip shift' I thought there might be a problem. However, I quickly learned about it and now 'skip shift' in my GT is a thing of the past!

I am concerned that this transmission is built in China. If it were made in Japan or Korea for that matter, I might not be too concerned as it probably would have been made their for years. But China?
Their experience in building these trannys may be lacking. I don't know.

I think if the tranny was built elsewhere, you may still see the same complaints. The difference in this case is being made in China, it sends up a big red flag...no pun intended!
