what could i run on a stock tune 98 gt that will not blow it up ? i just need as much as i can get with a dry system ( got it for 150.00) 25 hp jet or a 50 ? 75 ?

I would say probably the 50 shot at most(which might actually be pushing it).

get a wideband o2 as well. 150$-200$ used for a PLX or Innovative, and you have realtime readout of whats really going down, instead of guesswork.

going the cheapest route to power is the shortest route to spending more to fix it later.

You can run a 75 shot without a problem. I have no clue why a person would say only to run 50?

Because dry shots are unsafe. Sell your kit and buy a wet kit. I don't wanna hear "but my intake will blow" BS either.

Nitrous can be unsafe in any form.

A dry 75 isn't going to hurt anything unless you go crazy with it.

i've seen alot of guys running 75 dry shots over the years. I would personally upgrade my fuel pump but i'm a worry wart.

mine runs rich after the off road x pipe, so i think ill go a 50 shot, and only use it for a punch at the line if need be...

They can push enough for a 75 shot without a doubt. You could even run a 100 safely, however i'd begin to worry at 125+

Stick with a 75 and you'll be fine.

i know guys who ran 150hp wet shots and their engines (and intakes) survived. some of it is luck, the rest is safety. personally i wouldn't have run more than a 125 shot with a completely stock motor, but i've heard of 150hp shots running with success. here are the two most important words you need to know when running nitrous:

window switch.

whoops, missed the dry part. i'd keep it at 125 or below with a dry shot. make sure that fuel pump is in good shape and start small and work your way up.

Anyways, a 75 shot will be just fine. Don't venture over 100 though

It isn't the size of the jets that will blow up your engine
it is detonation or dreaded nitrous backfire that will murder your engine.On a dry shot don't go past 125hp
jets and you should be fine.Just don't go spraying everywhere and your engine should last.A rpm window
switch will add some extra insurance.If you go 100hp jets
or bigger make sure you get a larger fuel pump or you
will probably run lean witch isn't good.Also start small
like 50 or 75hp jets and work your way up Nitro has the
idea.

i pop in from time to time i agree with you, for a first time spray on this engine 75 is plenty. there's always room for an increase later after you've seen how it responded. as always a switch chip to retard the timing during spraying is great peace of mind.
