i may need a rebuild, so im considering 331 or 347. what do you guys think? are they're any noticeable differences? does one cool better than other? what over bore do you need for both?

i may get flammed for not having all my info when i post, but there used to be a huge problem with the 347 stroker kits. I think it had something to do with the crank and clerence or oil or something. Anyway that problem is fixed now, but after reading things like that i just think ya know what i think i won't puch it a 331 is fine. SO thats my opinon, individual results may vary.

There is less work involved in a 331. You dont have to get the cylinder walls notched for the rods. Also I believe they have the same bore just the 347 has more stroke.

Either one will be fine, but if you go with the 347, get the 5.315" rod with piston to match. They both make similar power...

Same bore, just the 347 has .150 more stroke...which typically means you need to grind down the cylinder walls a bit for the rod bolts to clear at the angle they approach.

If you are making a drag car or 'non daily driver' (aka: street car), the 5.4" rod will be fine...
