Need some help, am restoring 69 mach 1 using an aluminum intake C90X-9424A, original intake is a cast iron c90e-9425-e. This is my problem the aluminum intake sits approximatley 1 1/2 inches above the stock intake now I have a hood clearance issue anyone ever run into this before? The carburetor spacer is a 1" spacer that the pcv system hooks into has anyone seen a shorter spacer?

You can remove the spacer, and sit the carb straight onto the intake. There should be an outlet on the back of the carb for PCV.

You could also use the BOSS 302 spacer, it's black phenolic about 1/4" thick, with a PCV tube out the back. Hooks up PCV and isolates the carb from the hot aluminum intake.

Woodsnake I appreciate the input only thing is the carb linkage hangs up on the intake runner so I cant do it that way. 2+2 same thing the BOSS
302 spacer is just not quite tall enough, put down washers that totaled 1/4" still not enough room for the linkage. Looked on line at summit that have a biziilion carb spacers that I may be able to drill and tap to install a pcv fitting. Any other thoughts I am all ears.

This is just a thought, but maybe try to modify the linkage.

What kind of carb are you using? I have a 600 Holley on my kids 70 W, fits like a charm.
On my 69, when I put the air gap intake I finally had to cut the hood on my 69 Cougar.
Now just might the time to invest in that hood scoop you've always wanted...
