I didnt even know I needed an install kit. I feel that the price for install is far being its done at a ford shop and being done by someone whos done it numberous times. The price on the gears is insane and the install kit seems to be a little pricey too.
$709 total to change from 3.27 to 4.10s. I can find the gears cheaper but cant find a place to get the FRPP gears and install kit at the same time. I was readin that if its not installed correctly or adjusted right it could whine. I dont want to have them installed and for there to be a whine and ford wont adjust it. Id be ****ed.
I almost forgot U need a speedcal to so it cost an average of $800 to correctly install gears.
The cheapest ive found was:
Ford install in florida: $350
Summit Racing FRPP Install kit:$110
RPMoutlet FRPP 4.10: $169
DM speedcal: $99
Total before tax: $728
Looks like im not geting gears for XMAS.

Why do you say that? I have not had a single problem with my richmonds and the softer metal is better for racing and makes them stronger. Why is glass so easy to break? They are softer than normal gears and they make more noise and dont last as long.

The race only gears are "harder" and are designed for closer tolerances for drag racing only. Since they are harder and I think the gear pitch is different they will make more noise than a street gear. Dammit I always get hard and soft thing screwed up oddly enough my old lady does also.
