Just means it doesn't have a carb oe number.

yeah, I was wondering why gears said 'not for use on....'

I suppose no one could find out....

I've heard (but am not sure) that rather than go to the trouble/expense/time of getting a CARB number for each and every part that alters car operation in some way, Ford figures it's easier to say "don't use it in your street car" and be done with it.

Anyone know for sure?

That's my take on it. I mean it's a part that is going to be hard to find during an inspection, so why go throught the trouble of getting a CARB number?
