5-wire door lock actuators

Yes, this is the same kit that I have.
First, I installed my locks and wired them to a switch in the console. I tied into my horn circuit for constant (not ignition switched) 12V power. Once I had them installed and adjusted, I tied them into my Viper Alarm.

I did not use the releays that came with the lock kit, the Alarm is already on a relay. I just connected the brown and purple wires (on the door lock harness) to the blue and green leads (on the Alarm Relay). I don't remember if I went purple to blue or green - just do a quick test to see if you are locking or unlocking.

Shoot me another PM or just post here if you need more help. My remote now alarms and locks the car, then deactivates the alarm and unlocks the car.

While were on the subject, I would like to install power door locks with the central locking system. I would like to have remote trunk release but no alarm. Is there a cheap kit that matches this description?

Congradulations, but i can't help with the rods. I do know that most people cut a small hole on the inside of the door and run the wires behind the kickpanel and up under the dash. At least, that is how I will do mine. Don't forget to make some sort of grommet to go around the cut hole to keep from puncturing the wires.

I do have a couple more questions regarding the install, though. I noticed that gp001 used a straight piece of threaded rod. Is there a place I can buy some, or would I have to thread the rod myself? My tools are kinda limited, since this is my dad's apartment; all my tools are back home in Arizona.
Also, how did you run the wiring from the inside of the door to under the dash?

You can buy threaded rod at any hardware store (I got mine at Home Depot). If you don't have a die set to clean the threads after cutting the rod you can just put the nuts and hardware on first an then cut the rod using bolt cutters/hack saw/ dremel/ etc.

I was looking at the power window kit from a1electric. When you order those with the $34 switch kit, does that include the wiring to the ignition or does that have to be ordered seperately? In other words, does that include everything to make the locks work or is another wiring system needed?
