I know it's a mustang site, but the little jetta tdi surprised me. We just got back from seeing my girlfriend's brother and family 4 hours away. This was doing 70/75down and a little slower back, it was raining like hell around Huntington WV today. I filled up before we left wheeling on sunday and again today when we got home. 477 miles and 9 gallons of fuel(diesel). This beats my last trip by 2 mpg. I love my stang but....DAM

My DD is a TDI. I took a photo the day I got 62 mpg. Kind of off sets the 10 mpg I get in my stang.

this impresses me... the 53 does not... the old CRX hf's were rated at 51 from the factory back in the late 80's

I'm guessing the wind was at my back and the temp and humidity was just right. Before that my best was 57.7. I guess what I like is I can drive it hard, chirp the tires in two gears, and still clear 50 mpg on a regular basis. Still doesn't replace a good stang.

Wow. That makes Bullitt's best of 25 mpg on I 65 look a bit less impressive.
