A blown 4.6 is a VERY capable engine. You would be EXTREMELY pleased by just throwing on a S/C right now. With 8 or 9PSI, you dont need a forged motor....your stock one will last a long time. And you would destroy most cars you run accross.

Ok so Goal is 400-450hp with $6000 dollars can it be done?

If you do the installs sure

Pull the heads and send them to get ported - 1000
PI intake - 250?
MPH Blower Cams - 600?
MPH Mongoose Vortech - 3800

Assuming you have the normal exhaust, tbody, plenum, etc mods you could see 400+whp with the above.

Or you could do:

PI heads
PI intake
VT Stage 2 Cams
Manley Valvesprings
$1550

NX EFI 4.6 Plate Kit
$580

SCT XCal2
$385

That would be
$2515

Then add in fuel pump, spark plugs, tune and anything else you might want

You'd be over 400rwhp with little over 1/3 of the money you have saved up!

Then you could build your rearend, get some gears and throw some 15's and DR's or slicks on that sucker!

Personally I went the route of getting the SC first with an intercooler and a 9psi pulley. Next I'll work on upgrading my clutch, transmission, cams, pistons anything else that could use upgrading. Then I'll move up to a higher psi pulley (14lb max)

No reason to buy another intake than replace it again when you get blown.
