66 289 compression...?

Anyone have a book handy that can tell me what the compression of the cylnder head should be reading? (66 Mustang 289)

A cylinder head doesn't give a compression reading but the pressure in the combustion chamber does. With a good gauge, the right technique and a healthy engine, a 289 should show about 175 PSI.

More important is the variation between cylinders which should NOT exceed 15%.
