http://mikesmustangs.net/images/12_4_05_21.jpgI'm building a Pro tour type car with a little pro street influence. Big Wilwood discs, MII rack, Air ride and a blown 460. It's been a fun project. Concourse guys will hate this car, but do have peace that I rescued this tubbed former drag car from a prostreet death. Anyway.

Here are a couple mock up pics I did this weekend showing Eleanor modded front, valance mods, etc. I will end up using taller tire (305/45/18) after looking at it this weekend. This car has lots of stuff already, but I'm considering putting Eleanor tail lights and upper scoops now. Maybe too much? Thoughts please....

Personally (and no offfense), I really hate the eleanor body kit, but if you're going to do it, I would go ahead and do the tail lights & scoops too. If you're changing the look of the car that much, I don't think the stock tail lights and scoops would look right.

I must admit I am over the Eleanor look, although the tail lights look quite good in my view.

Having said that, it's your car and we should not influence your decisions.

Thanks for input and keep it coming (and no offense taken). I'm using stock headlight buckets. hood and both chrome bumpers, so it's not a 100% Eleanor. (Though I do like Eleanors....) I had these cars as a kid and hated them stock then. No offense meant please.

i have the the california special deck lid on mine and i like the way the stock tail light looks with it.

i didn't like the backup lights either

Blower is a Procharger D1-X . 15 lbs boost clocked the dyno at just over 800 HP. It is a monster.

Have you welded on rear fender flares? Will you use the Eleanor flares. I only hate the hood. Is it just the angle of the pic or is the front end all warped up?

no mini tub... just a shorter rear end and 5 1/2" backspacing on 17 x11's fit perfect

Thanks all an I have to assume it's the picture angle. It's just a teardrop scoop. That scoop cleared my carb, supercharger and intake perfectly.

I agree and am considering repainting

I am not using the Eleanor wheel flares and there are no flares on there now. The car had huge wheel cut outs to clear slicks. The metal work you see was restoring wheel openings, though still larger than stock. I did extend the rear quarter length to meet the extended rear valance length. It was extended to cover fuel cell, sump and plumbing.

335/17's now, though I'll probably end up with 305/18's. I don't like the stance with these profile tires.

Nice cars! I just sold an Strimmed 97 Cobra so I had my new tech fix too. The modulars can be remarkably fast. I do love my big blocks though.
