Did a few small things today. Installed the door locks and handles. Talk about pucker factor, we double and triple taped that area around the door with blue tape. Then taped some shower towels to that with duct tape. I still wasn’t prepared or comfortable with the amount of force it took to river the door handles to the door. But we did it with out incident.

We then installed the fenders in preparation to cut and buff. That simple act has revealed to us how the completed car will look. I can’t put it into words how it looks and the pictures dont do it justice. Needless to say, we are beyond excited.

That looks really nice 67. I hear you on those door handles. Sketchy stuff riveting those handles in.

Yeah those pneumatic riveters are a lot easier. I had to use the old community shop rivet gun when I did mine door handles a few weeks ago, cuz none of the techs were there to borrow from. That thing is older than me! I almost bolted them in. My doors came away unscathed thank god.

Very productive weekend.

The quarter windows, door trim, side view mirrors and hatch are on.

The LMR quarters overall fit okay. There’s a few spots we had to work with to get the rubber to lay flat on the quarter panel.

Overall we like them without the “mustang” lettering. It really fits the look of this car since the antenna and all emblems (except the horse in the cobra grill) have been deleted.

Then, we finally got to see cobra spoiler installed. The LX taillights really look good with this color.

Seeing the trim on is like the icing on the cake. It really ties everything together.

We literally have 5 items left. Driver side skirt, door moldin, front bumper, headlights and a few more pieces of interior trim and we are finished! Should have complete this weekend!

*edit. I read post 20.

And the neighborhood pics look like my neighborhood pics...do you live in Alabama?

No, I’m not getting paid. I don have the experience or skills to even about think charging for this. This is my second complete paint job and first metallic. It’s not perfect but good enough all things considered. I’ve pretty much only learned what not to do.

I’m in Huntsville.

Tell me about it. I can’t even pain the trunk deck w/o screwing it up.
