89 mustang convertible top not working?!?!!?!

i have an 89 mustang gt and the top isnt working. the pump is working cause when i had it out i ran power to it and it ran fine. and when i hit the switch for the top i hear a clicking at the relays in the back. so it makes me think either the relays are bad or its not getting power to the relays. what do you guys think. any suggestions would be helpful

Sounds like a bad relay.

i had a problem with everything working fine, but just over the years the fluid had been disappearing. i filled up a little bit and it helped the motor immensely, but the clicking sounds like a bad relay.. this might be your problem too. 1987-93 Mustang Convertible Top And Fuel Pump Relay by Ford at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

alright well one of my friends owns a junk yard so i will go grab one from him and tell you if it works or not. hopefully those arent bad either lol. but i guess since its free its worth a try.

ok. changed out the relay right before the pump and it still doesnt work.... it still makes that same clicking sound on just one of the relays at the same wires. idk what else to do... please help.

It's the pump. Mine did the samething....worked fine out of the car with no pressure on it. But as soon as you put pressure on it ....it won't move.

Sorry ...but your going to have to replace the pump.
