I need to replace my clutch but im unsure of what crank is in it. It has a T45 with what i believe is a 10.5" clutch disc. I've done some searching and havent come up with much. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Windsor 99-00 is an 8-bolt crank. Romeo are 6 bolt.

thanks. Is counting the valve cover bolts an accurate way of determing your block as well?

Yes it is I believe the 8 bolt crank has 14? or is it 13 bolts, anyway the 8 bolt crank has more cam cover bolts than the 6 bolt crank. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

My car needed the 10.5" w/ the 8 bolt pattern when I got my King Cobra put in.

I was told that sometimes the door codes on the '00 GT aren't reliable and ones that should be using those are actually using 11" 6-bolt clutches. I was told that by a performance shop that said they had put in a pair of King Cobra clutches in Mustangs in the prior couple of weeks and one didn't match the door code (so they could very well know what they're talking about). If you have a '99 however, I'm don't believe that applies to you.

99-00 motors are windsors. 96-98 and 01+ (some 01's could be a windsor so check) are romeo's. That being said, romeo's have 11 bolts on the cam covers, widsors have 13 and 14 or something like that. So yea, they have more. Widsors have 8 bolt flywheels and romeo's have 6. 96-00 use the same clutch a fox body does. 01+ use an 11 inch clutch with a 6 bolt flywheel.

Yes, unless for some reason your original engine blew and they replaced it with a Romeo bottom end.

On the drivers side valve cover, if you can still read the sticker on the valve cover it should say "WINDSOR" on it... at least mind does.

But 13/14 bolt are Windsor covers.

I counted my valve cover bolts and i do have 11. I ordered a spec 2 clutch that has a 10.5" disc. Hopefully its the right one.
