Hi guys,
has anyone had their convertible roof let in water from above the windshield?
it only happens when driving(and raining, duh). I can see the water coming in from the center of the roof, above rear view mirror, as if it is not pulled tight enough. can i/should i adjust the J clips to be tighter when clipped in? Is the gasket that runs the whole length replaceable? It is soft and pliable and not ripped or torn but maybe too soft? any ideas?
thanks
,
johnny

mine use to do that. Yes the headder seal can be replaced (ive never done it so i cant tell ya how) it runs about 90 to 100 bucks i think. What i did was went to a hardware store (i work at one so the stuff is just laying around) and get a piece of whats called backer rod (thats what we call it, it could go by a different name) about a 1/4 in. thick and about 6 or 7 ft long. Its a soft foam strip thats usualy used to fill cracks in concreat before filling them with caulk or morter. unlatch the top and stuff that **** in there then pull the latch down down pulling off whats left hanging over the sides. Its a cheap temp. fix that should get you through winter. You can adj. the j hooks but ive always been afraid that i would get them too tight and break one.

Thanks Aar0s,
i wedged an old rubber door seal gasket then latched the roof. Went for a drive and can't feel air coming through. This should last for the winter like you said.
Has anyone ever replaced the header seal? Is it difficult, any tricks or tips?

I have a similar problem with mine. May have to try the weather strip trick for the winter. I've heard that the aftermarket weather stripping for the vert's is pretty crummy.
