Hey everyone. I just finished putting some new parts on my 94, intake(upper/lower), injectors, maf, FPR, pump, TB, new plug wires. Now it idles at around 2000 rpm. It seems to drop down to about 1500 with the spout connector out. I have searched for any vac leaks, and cant seem to find any. Any suggestions to what I might be overlooking here? We tried a new IAC but it didn't change things, I also took the TPS sensor off just to make sure the new TB wasn't holding it open for whatever reason at idle, but no change there either. Thanks for any suggestions.

Is the TB brand new or did you get it used? If it is used then look inside at the blade and make sure there is no hole drilled. I've seen people drill them for forced induction applications. Make sure there is no buildup on the return spring or inside the TB that may be keeping the blade open. And check to blade against the throttle stop screw. And find out what the voltage of the TPS sensor is with a voltmeter. Always check that when changing the TB or the TPS...and even if you remove the old one and put it back on. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions. TB is new, no hole drilled. I looked inside & the blade is 100% closed, I've backed the stop screw off to the point it is backed off beyond where the blade can touch it so I've ruled that out as well. Only thing I haven't tried is the TPS voltage.

Up in the sticky there is a bunch of info compiled for idle issues......search through it a bit, I think it is under "misc tech articles". It;s in there, just look around.....It'll walk you through all things idle setting etc.

Hope that doesn't seem like a short answer.....

Once you confirm the TPS voltage KOEO is okay I would follow the procedure for doing an idle reset. As noted in an earlier post a search should find how to do the idle reset.

See the "Surging Idle Checklist” for help with all your idle/stall problems. You can guess at the problem and throw parts at it, or you can use the checklist to help you find the problem quickly and inexpensively.

The quick and easy way to dump the codes is in there too, and all you need to do it is a paper clip! The first two posts contain all the fixes & updates. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.
