hi i'm building a 94' with stock short block, GT40P heads(170LBS static presure on each cilinders), explorer intake ported, 65mm TB, 42pounders injectors, 80mm maff, stock cam, 1.7RR's, vortech S trim 10pounds of boost, 1 5/8 LT's, 2.5 pipe....
my problems are 2 that they are getting me pist off, 1 is i made a custom chip that my total timing is 24º (little retarded) and 10º base and im tired of hearing the engine nockling alot, i made a some changes i tok off the computer chip and i the spout off and put the timing on 20º static and i still hear pining what can i do?
2 the other one is i have no vac the vac is on 9 inches on 1000RPM's and i cheked all the vac lines and the car smells fuel and the gasket between both intakes is sealing, i cheked the valves again they ahve 1/4 turn after the pushrod stops what else can it be?
i really need help with this car....

In your neck of the woods, is the 1994 computer also load-based like it is in the States? We have some real detonation issues with this puter (too much timing and too little fuel - an effort to make it more emissions friendly).

Can you datalog? This will allow you to see where you run lean and see the sensory input, and make changes to your chip/tune.

If your computer is like a North America computer, try posting this thread here .

Good luck.

I would look into switching your harness and EEC for a 93. I think this might help eliminate your problem and will be much more MOD friendly in the future.
