I am putting an engine from a 95 gt into an 88gt and I have everything pretty much all done I am just wondering how to make the starter connections work together...does anyone have any ideas other than buying a new starter?

You should be able to use the 88 starter on the 95 engine. The only difference between the two combinations is really that the 95 trans has a 5/8" longer input shaft, but the starter mounts should be indentical.

Wiring it up as a high torque mini starter on an early fox should work (where you incorporate both solenoids).

Good luck.

Hey guy's i'm doing the swap over for him. We used the engine and tranny w/bellhousing from the 95. We swaped out the dist for a fox dist and the alt as well for a fox alt. Now we are at the point to where the 95's starter's wiring connectors arent matching up with the fox's wiring harness. So by us useing the 95's bell housing we should still be able to bolt up a fox starter to the 95's bellhousing? peace

I'm 99% sure you could do it. I believe it's a fairly common mod to use the SN95 starter in the Fox, since it's a high torque model, so the two should be interchangable.

basically though what I am hearing is that I either need the starter from the 88 or the wiring from the 95?
