I'm pretty new at this, but i'm thinking about getting a performance chip for my 95 gt. I have no idea what makes one chip better than another, or what to really look for. right now my car is all stock. i'm about to put in a cold air intake; 65mm throttle body, and an intake manifold are on the way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello to You and Welcome to 94-95 StangNet

Those store bought chips don't work all that well in our Stangs

If you got a gain AT ALL ... most likely 5rwhp or less
so
A mod such as that ... its a terrible gain for the buck spent

A few more thoughts for you

The intake manifold is a great idea to make more power
however
That 65mm tb is gonna fall in that same category as the chip

Reason is cause the amount of airflow generated by your combo
at this time is just not enough to render your OEM 60mm tb
as being ineffective ... Even With The Upgraded Intake

Now later on ... if you swap parts out such as heads, cam, and
headers which will allow more air flow ... the larger tb would
be more effective

I'd stay with your OEM tb for now

Just trying to help you see you can spend B I G money
and
Gain very little performance

Since you say you are new to this hobby
You might find this to be helpful

Thanks Grady!

So as a newbie, where would be a good, moderately inexpensive place to start? CAI, Intake, and then what? Since i'm new, it shouldn't be something too incredibly difficult. Any ideas?

Steeper Gears

Nothing you can bolt on the motor
Will make as much of a difference :Word:

Your can will feel a thousand pounds lighter

Create a sig with your mods
