When I turn my wheel all the way in one direction, my car makes a really loud popping sound. It happens more often when I'm going over a bump or uphill, usually when I back out of a driveway. Is this a broken tie rod?

Does the wheel still turn? You never know. Rack bushings can do the same thing, p/s pump, ball joints, anything. Best bet is to look at it yourself(if you are inclined to know what to look for) or take it to a shop.

could be a tier rod, jack up each side and see if you can wiggle the wheel, it's it wobbles it's a tie rod, most likely a inner i think

Have the whole front end checked. I have had 2 mustangs come into the shop9before I worked for the dealerships again) that made that noise and the rack bushings were bad allowing the rack to move when it turned the wheels.

It could be anything ranging from tie rod ends to the rack itself. Just don't limit it to one thing and causing the underlying problem to be not looked.

I'll check those and report back when I jack up the car to bleed the brakes just after Christmas.

It has 61,000 miles, but it did it when I bought the car at 58,000 miles.
