Working on my 96 GT replacing the tranny, I have everything taken off except the starter, is that the only think else needed? All bellhousing bolts are off and support bracket is off all linkage disconnected everything is disconnected. Just the starter I'm assuming. It's already separated but is the starter what's holding it?

Yes the starter does have to be removed to remove the transmission.

Be sure to support the motor and transmission. Don't just let the motor "hang" on the motor mounts after the transmission is out.
