97 GT engine cuts out

hey guys i have a 97 GT that i just put an engine in. i bought the engine from a salvage yard and installed it. all went well with the exception of two things it runs well but sometimes it loses all power like the engine just cuts out and my engine light comes on. its only for a split second and then it goes back to running. Any ideas? and the second is my exhaust sounds clicky during acceleration. not so much worried about the sound right now my big issue is the engine cutting out. im not sure where to start. New plugs? look for short in harness? bad connection? new coils? you tell me. thanks guys

The engine cut sounds like an electrical interruption. Check your grounds and harnesses.

The "clicky" noise during acceleration is likely an exhaust leak, probably up at the manifold, either at the head itself or where the H-pipe joins it.
