Behold: The SSC Ultimate Aero, one of the fastest road-going machines in the world. Ford powered and built in Richland, WA

Check out the video. The second half of it is shot on Highway 221 between Prosser and Paterson. If you've ever heard anybody talk about driving fast on the way to the winery show, that's the place. You can see the windbreak around the Columbia Crest winery in the background of some of the shots.

Dave, you have a birthday coming at some point. I'm sure your wife will be getting you one of those too!

You would think that company has millions invested in that auto program. Couldn't they fork over a couple bucks for a "real" camera crew?

Anyway, amazing car I will never be able to have. But it will go on my wet dream list with Brooke Burke and fresh donuts........

A gentleman I know that knows Mr. Shelby told me that it is Windsor-derived. I can't find anything on the site to confirm or deny it.

The SSC site says that Blood did the drivetrain engineering and engine assembly, and the Blood site has several photos of the SSC Ultimate aero.

Been there, done that. Its the perfect road. I used to live in tri cities (Kennewick, Pasco, Richland) so its good to know my hometown is the home of the worlds fastest production car

I saw it, it was Clarkson bashing it, it was in the news part of the show. I doubt you will actually see the car on the show for real to be driven.

If enough talk is generated about the car, they might.

typical of the English to look down their noses

Last weekend a company by the name of Iconic released a new car called the GTR at the DuPont party in Amelia island. You can see it at http://www.iconicmotors.com/ but the pictures on there don't do it justice. There 25 patents on the car and is run off an operating system (computer). Check it out very impressive.

Wow it looks very similar to an original Cobra. Though very cool looking. I'm wondering about one thing. Why 2 E-brake handles? Incase the passenger goes "Oh S***"?
