A/c stopped blowing

A/c stopped blowing (fixed now)

I just got new a/c system last year was 700$ installed...anyways today I turned air for first time in a while, it wasnt getting cold, so i turned it off, then a minute later turned it on. It now isnt blowing at all, except for by the windshield but still warm. What could make the main air system stop blowing?

Blowing only at the windshield indicates a vacuum leak somewhere. There's a line that runs along the top of the firewall which supplies a vacuum source to the climate controls, so there's probably a leak in that somewhere. As far as the AC goes, it could be a multitude of things causing it to blow warm. Does the compressor cycle on when you set it to AC? If not, that's typically indicative of your refrigerant charge being low, or the low pressure switch on the accumulator being bad. If you can verify the correct charge of refrigerant (I don't recall the correct amount off hand), and your charge is fine, unplug the harness from the low pressure switch and use a jumper across the terminals on the harness to see if the compressor cycles on. As a warning, do this *only* if you have enough refrigerant in your system, or you risk causing permanent damage to your compressor. If the compressor cycles on and your system is filled correctly, the low pressure switch is bad and needs to be replaced. I believe mine was in the neighborhood of $30 at Napa.

my vac line did the same thing. It's a really small like going from the drivers side vac tree to the passenger side. I'd say about 1/8" in diameter.

BTW: mine was split in 2 and fell, so go from the vac tree and trace from there

ok guys i found the vac line is broke at the tree, it goes into the passenger side firewall though, how do i replace it?

ok i found how to replace it just gotta find the hose somewhere, but now i gotta find out how to make it cold..

Yeah maybe they forgot to charge the system, I've heard of that happening before

well i had new a/c put in last year around...june/july, used it till around september prolly
then stopped till this week..
so it used to be ice cold, maybe it has a refriderent leak? first i got to replace this vac hose then go from there i guess

if it blew cold last year up until september and now it blows warm it definetly has a leak and nobody here is going to tell u where its leaking. if the shop had any idea what they were doing they would have put fluorescent dye in the system so it will be easy to detect a leak down the road with a black light. bring it back to them.

ok guys i fixed vacuum line
then while looking at vacuum line i happened to see an electricl connection near the a/c stuff on passenger side firewall that was broken, so i crimped a new piece on and now its cold!
