What the article says:

"The average life expectancy of a Mustang on a dealer lot is two hours."

The Ford 500 is lame. I really wish Ford would build a nice RWD sedan like the 427 concept:

I hear ya, it looks like a cross between a taurus and a focus.......can't ford ever make the "normal" type cars look good, last i can remember was the early to mid 90's SHO, thunderbird SC, probe GT, then it went to crap looks wise. I remember an add when i was a kid all the cars were bright red, it was a mustang GT, thunderbird SC, probe GT, taurus SHO all following each other around a turn it looks sweet, now there are a couple i like and the rest i look away. How can they not see it, actually im just glad they did good by the mustang it's sweet (concept looks were the best tho).

Oh well, it seems like Ford can make the Mustang good but screws up everything else, DC can make a nice RWD four door but screws up everything else, and GM does a great job with the Vette but screws up everything else. All three are wasting too much energy with crappy FWDs and SUVs--where they basically get their asses kicked by the Japanese anyway.

The family car segment isnt full of great styling masterpieces. The camry is he most boring of cars, the accord a little better. The new 500 is 10 times better than the taurus and looks a bit like a VW/audi from the side. Racing styling doesnt sell family cars.

DC can barely keep up with demand on the new 300 and Magnum. Not "racing style," just nicely styled, well-engineered RWD cars that people who actually like cars might want to drive.

Throw the Subaru Legacy GT and the Mazda6 in the lit of sporty family sedans. I agree though, Ford definitly could use a RWD or sporty intentioned AWD car....the 500 just looks like something my grandma might drive to church....if she went to church

Sheesh. Five years ago Chrysler could barely keep up with the demand for PT Cruisers. Now they can't give them away with huge dealer incentives. Ten years ago Chrysler could barely keep up with the demand for Concordes. And what happened to that car?

Chrysler's good at making cars that generate a lot of headlines, sell well for two or three years, and then fall in the tank because they're no longer the IT car to have. Five years from now Accords and Camrys will still be profit-making machines. Will the 300 still be there, I wonder?

I'm already burned out on the new 300. To me it's one of those cars that looks better in the magazine photos than in person.

The other day I saw an old 300 parked next to a new 300. The old one looked better.

Are you talking about the 300M or one of the old 300s like 60s old. Because I'd wager most cars from the 60s that are still around today looked better in the 60s.

And is it just me or does that 427 concept look a lot like the 300?

I'm talking about the last 300, which I guess is the 300M.

We've talked about this before. It's the other way around. The new 300 looks a lot like the Ford 427. I'm pretty sure the 427 show car came before the new 300 prototype was unveiled.

My Fiancee just bought a 2004 300M this past summer, and to us there was no comparison in styling between that and the 2005 300 models. The 300M was just easier to look at and it's flowing lines actually looked like the newer model in comparison. Being that we wanted FWD for the winter and the fact that we got it out the door for 20k it was a no-brainer of a decision.

I like the new 300 a lot. Almost as much as the 1956 300B.
