no way those morons know that they are bidding over the real price. they think they are getting a new gt for 10 grand. and when they find out its 40, guess what? they are not going to pay it.

The bidders are probably just employees at the dealership posting "fake" bids in an effort to hopefully trick at least one idiot into making them a huge commission check. Nothing to see here, this means nothing, please move on.... Besides, who would in their right mind be buying a new Mustang on ebay?? It's like buying a Big Mac online, stupid and unnecessary.

Why should they give a rat's a$$????? And what do you think they could do??? They can't do anything about that kind of stuff, it's a free country. And they could care less, it's just one lousy auction listing. Kinda like asking why the U.S. Government doesn't leap to action every time a hitchhiker pees on a tree on the side of the road. Get serious...

By the end of next year there will probably be a few hundred thousand 05/06 Mustangs on the road and they'll be just another Mustang compared to the ~6000 04 Cobras.

Looks like someone threw up the red flag. There are only three bidders now and the bid is up to just over 2k (OVER MSRP OF 29,570), which is still lower than some dealers are trying to charge.

Here's one with a buy it now of $38,000.00!

Yes, but that's the kind of point that doesn't have much relevance. There's always rare limited-production Mustangs in the past, and they will always be collectible. But few people are willing to sacrifice all of the progress and strides in engineering you get with an all-new platform, just to have some "exclusivity" that only you and some other Mustang fans on the road are even aware of. Most people wouldn't know a Cobra is limited production, most people wouldn't even tell the difference between a 6-banger and a Cobra (most people are drones of course ). My point is that you should buy a car for personal reasons, because that's the hunk of machinery that you want. If it happens to be limited production, that's good icing on the cake.

Remember when the new beetle came out? This is the same, pretty stupid but if people want to pay so much, let them. Besides next year you'll be able to buy a 2005 for what 21K USD! Maybe even less depending on where you are. I'd rather wait, buy it for less and spend cash on a supercharger or something But I might be able to buy a 2005 Mustang in 5 years haha! New cars is such as waste of cash IMO. I'm in the wrong forum though lol

The bidders that placed those large bids have now retracted them. They obviously snapped to what they were doing (or someone pointed it out to them). The bid is a somewhat saner $2K. It's more than I would pay but better than $10K!
