Hey guys has anyone ever run into this problem before?
I was changing my transmission filter with a new one from napa, when I noticed my old filter was thinner then the new one. I didnt think much of it until I tried to put my old pan back on and discovered the new filter hits the pan preventing it from seating all the way up. I went to autozone, kragen and carquest no one has the thinner filter. So I buy a new deeper pan..... however, all but ONE bolt lines up? My mustang is an early 65 with a 260. Thank you for posting on the freeze plug it went very smooth.

This is out of my knowledge base so you may need to check one of the companies that deals in early models. I have left stuff laying on the counter at many of the retailers that you mentioned.

Simply walked away as I refuse to give my hard earned money to some stupid clerk that would rather BS with their co-workers or pick their nose rather than deal with their customers.

try adavance auto i got one there for my 65 coupe with a cork gasket
( i like cork ) it was the filter
